Something rotten in the state of Denmark?

Copenhagen is in the news right now, and of course, all sides have something to say. Sitting in the car waiting to pick up Aka, I had the unfortunate experience of tuning in to a talk show on the FOX radio network. I'm not sure honestly who it was that was speaking. Anyway, for the sake of my sanity, I didn't listen long, but what I heard was enough to make me want to bang my head on the steering wheel....repeatedly.

Of course, that probably wouldn't do when you're sitting in the pick up line at school.

The speaker was of course talking about his doubts about climate change. Although I find it a bit silly that climate change and environmental issues have to become political, that's not what bothered me. I'm all for discussion....

"The Thighmaster is neither a thigh nor a master...discuss." See?

What really left me flabbergasted was his claim that climate change and the Copenhagen talks are all about punishing the rich nations to benefit the poor. Climate change is a way for the UN to institute a worldwide tax and redistribute wealth. World-wide socialism, egads!

I guess I'm just so sheltered; this is the first time I've heard such crazy talk.

In the end, whether you believe in global warming or not, can anyone really doubt that pollution happens and our country's out-of-control consumerism is a leading contributor? So, fine, doubt away that the world is getting warmer, but how can one still keep their head in the sand and allow all this destruction to continue. It's disgusting.

And now I really am getting all verklempt.

*for the 1 or 2 others who read this besides me, my husband, who worries about these things, would like it to be known that I was quoting from Mike Myers in this post and therefore not violating copyright law of any kind.

Yes, I am serious, he actually brought this up as a potential problem.
